Hear Ye, Hear Ye: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is Now Available

Just in time to break up that boring Turkey-Day chit-chat: the first Borderlands DLC is now available at the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 800 MS points.

This DLC extends the fun, hilarity, and mayhem that is Borderlands.

    Xbox LIVE Update Today

If you haven’t logged into your Xbox LIVE yet, you may notice a request for software update once you fire up your Xbox 360 console.

More adjustments to come? Larry Hryb, where are you when we need the scoop?!? ;-)

Sore Thumbs, but Happy Soul: Borderlands!

If you haven’t picked up a copy of this “sci-fi RPG shooter”, as it has been touted, you owe it to yourself to at least take a peek at it… give it a whirl!

Borderlands is one of those cute, fun (and sometimes exasperating) FPS-type games that has appeal as both a single-player and multi-player event.

Think of it as an updated Diablo II… and with Xbox LIVE, fun and hilarity are bound to ensue! ;-)

How to Iteratively Delete .svn Directories: The Debate

Oooh, this is odd… a one-liner for deleting .svn “files”, but with a potential bug…

Adam Bien posted about a one-liner UNIX command that he found to “remove all .svn files”.

It’s close, and it definitely resembles an old DevPal script that did the same thing– which is to iteratively delete .svn files from a given location.

But the UNIX rm command– which is found on many different UNIX-like systems, including Linux– has a maximum limit to the size of the in-memory graph of parameters it will accept. Once it exceeds that limit, it will stop parsing along the submitted parameters and just die.

    N.B.

I’ll post a bit more about this over at Javamancy later… acquiring that infamous Wonderwaffe x 3 achievement in CoD:WaW under harrowing solo conditions has been quite a trip. ;-)

And if you are wondering how to activate those newest CoD:WaW achievements: you’ll have to download the Map Pack 3 DLC from Xbox LIVE.

A Xbox LIVE system update is due today, so if you are logged in, you may be asked to log out momentarily to accept the update. If you are in the process of logging in, or haven’t logged in yet, you will be asked to accept the update.

This update is intended to prep XBL for the upcoming social software capabilities that were touted earlier this year, including Twitter, Last.FM, and Facebook.

Xbox LIVE Access to Twitter: A Fun Request…

Was wondering, since Larry Hryb has announced that he has reached 50,000 Twitter followers…

How about adding Twitter-related Achievements and Achievement Points to Xbox LIVE accounts? Hmm, Major Nelson? How about it? Eh? Huh? Please? Pretty please? Puh-leeeze?

Xbox LIVE Maintenance Still Rollin’ On…

In contrast, Twitter’s outage earlier today doesn’t seem like a major event.

Then again, Xbox LIVE has a captive audience of gamers and other enthusiasts, so go figure…

    Xbox LIVE Maintenance Window Imminent

The scheduled maintenance window for Xbox LIVE, announced earlier, is almost upon us.

    Parents, board up your kids!

    Kids, hide under your beds!

Gamers– well, break out those offline Xbox 360 games of yours… or try some Mac or PC games… Or just cool your heels and rest your thumbs!

    Xbox LIVE Ubiquity Feature…

One feature that I haven’t seen on Xbox LIVE that I would definitely love to see is a User Profile Ubiquity feature.

Hey, Herb! Why not stick in on requirements board?
