Earlier today, WordPress 3.0.3 was released. Like its predecessor, it is a security release and is applicable for sites with remote publishing activated. However, even without remote publishing activated for your site, it also includes security fixes from the previous version, so you should still upgrade if you have not already done so and are providing contributor access to multiple individuals.
It was amusing AND disturbing to determine that, yes, TechIndulge was blocked by the security measures at Javamancy and Javamancy mini.
Has anybody noticed the abrupt downward spiral in the stock markets that has been occurring over the past several minutes? It looks like the DJIA will eventually slide toward a loss in excess of 900 points shortly, if not already striking that low level.
Is this that market correction that the bears have been indicating, or is this the start of the Greece-driven market disapproval, or is this some sort terrorist strike against the world’s financial markets?
WordPress 2.9.2 was released to the public earlier today to address a security vulnerability.

Although this is something that seems to prevail as message board spam and Twitter spam and E-mail spam, it’s not much of a stretch to see how blog comment spam could become a serious problem in the near future.
Is it possible that we may start to see the rise of “certified” URL shortening services? Hmm…
After a short beta and RC1 cycle, WordPress 2.9.1 has been released and is now available for download, as announced earlier today.
Ouch! Twitter got hacked earlier… but it’s back in service now.
Is it easy or hard to imagine that a social announcement service like Twitter would get trashed by miscreants?
WordPress 2.8.6 was released earlier today.
It contains some fixes addressing security exploits found in WordPress 2.8.5.
In addition to WordPress 2.8.4 being released today, WordPress MU 2.8.4 is also available, addressing the same security issue.

Don’t worry, folks: the security block has been resolved.
But it clearly raises certain concerns about DreamHost.

Actually, it would be more accurate to say that it raises concerns about certain individuals and groups who also have sites and Web apps on the same server hosts at DreamHost.
