    Free Microsoft Anti-Virus Software 

    Is Microsoft [MSFT] prepping to release their next iteration of a free anti-virus software package for their OS?

    There seems like this may occur soon, at least in a beta version form.

    And how does this impact the folks who purchased that subscription anti-virus offering from Microsoft?

    Expected start time: 3:01 AM ET.

    Expected duration: Up to 24 hours.

    Expected agony during the outage: Priceless.
