    Fun with Bad Behavior 2.0.29…?

There have been issues in the past with OpenID integration with WordPress and mismatch issues between OpenID’s behavior with anti-spam measures, such as Bad Behavior (among others).

Bad Behavior is a fantastic PHP-based anti-spam tool, and it is available as a WordPress plugin (among other supported systems), so it was a natural fit for Javamancy. But OpenID opened a strange can o’ worms that included issues with Bad Behavior.

So, with version 2.0.29, has Bad Behavior reached an equitable stance with regard to OpenID? :-?

How to Iteratively Delete .svn Directories: The Debate

Oooh, this is odd… a one-liner for deleting .svn “files”, but with a potential bug…

Adam Bien posted about a one-liner UNIX command that he found to “remove all .svn files”.

It’s close, and it definitely resembles an old DevPal script that did the same thing– which is to iteratively delete .svn files from a given location.

But the UNIX rm command– which is found on many different UNIX-like systems, including Linux– has a maximum limit to the size of the in-memory graph of parameters it will accept. Once it exceeds that limit, it will stop parsing along the submitted parameters and just die.

    N.B.

I’ll post a bit more about this over at Javamancy later… acquiring that infamous Wonderwaffe x 3 achievement in CoD:WaW under harrowing solo conditions has been quite a trip. ;-)

And if you are wondering how to activate those newest CoD:WaW achievements: you’ll have to download the Map Pack 3 DLC from Xbox LIVE.

A Xbox LIVE system update is due today, so if you are logged in, you may be asked to log out momentarily to accept the update. If you are in the process of logging in, or haven’t logged in yet, you will be asked to accept the update.

This update is intended to prep XBL for the upcoming social software capabilities that were touted earlier this year, including Twitter, Last.FM, and Facebook.

Special Limited-Time Rebate for Xbox 360 Elite!

Just when you thought that the $100 discount on the Xbox 360 Elite console packages was a way to achieve new price parity with the PlayStation 3 price drops… Microsoft [MSFT] strikes yet again, hot on the heels of the exciting Modern Warfare 2 limited edition Xbox 360 Elite announcement, with an additional Xbox 360 Elite price deal.

This time, it is a $50 rebate on the Xbox 360 Elite when purchased between now and October 5, 2009.

I first noticed this tidbit on Larry’s Major Nelson blog!

The Return of the Other Steve?

    Wondering… wondering… wondering…

O, where art thou, Other Steve? Will you make a live appearance today at the Apple [AAPL] event? :-)

It’d be quite momentous if you strolled out on stage, during a “Oh, one last thing” moment, with a couple of Beatles in tow, ready to rock out to some tunes. Or toss in a couple of Rolling Stones. Or perhaps a jam session with both? ;-)

Not to be outdone by today’s Apple [AAPL] press, it seems, there are statements floating around the ether about Palm [PALM] prepping for the launch of its second webOS-based smartphone, previously known as the Palm Eos, sometime this week during Fashion Week 2009.

    Fun times! :-)

Now, the Apple Store has been shut down for the new incoming product SKUs and rearrangement of the existing SKUs. The time is fast approaching for Apple’s [AAPL] “It’s Only Rock and Roll” media event…

Design and Structural Considerations for StevenLin.org Finalizing…

After several months of “hem-ing” and “haw-ing”, we may have resolution for StevenLin.org after all…

Or, at least, either a sub-domain or a separate subdirectory from the main site root.

It’s strange how the most innocuous-seeming items tend to take the most time and thought to hash out to one’s satisfaction…
