Mac + Apple KB != Mac + PC KB != PC + PC KB …

I think I’ve figured it out: I have a mental image of what the “ideal” pairing of computer-to-KB is, and whenever the KB is in front of me, regardless of whether it’s a Mac, PC, Ultra, or even a generic Linux box, I try to type as if the machine normally associated with that KB layout is actually in front of me…

So if a traditional SPARC keyboard is set up with its dongle-converter and attached via KVM switch to a Mac, a PC, and an Ultra, I’ll try to type as if on an Ultra– everywhere! Which, of course, leads to plenty of typos and slowdowns as I try to correct the mistyping.

    Curious…

The investigation on yesterday evening’s Metrorail crash is still ongoing.

Some focus now being spent on determining why the fail-safe software that governs prevention of two trains colliding had failed, vs. mechanical failure, or some combination.

STILL not sure what to think about Steve Jobs’ belatedly reported liver transplant…

Is it a good thing to keep these personal matters quiet? And is Steve Jobs’ life really allowed to be private, given his very public image?

People keep Internet service, but give up cell phones and TV services…

Quite an interesting, but predictable news tidbit…

People would strive to keep their Internet service, and in many cases, actually try to upgrade the service to faster speeds in various broadband ranges and to improve the ubiquity of service. However, they would give up cell phone and TV service.

After all, you can easily communicate with your buddies via IM and VoIP, and you can watch movies and TV on demand, all on the Internet.

Hmm… Why are the zombie levels in CoD:WaW so addictive? Especially this latest one in the Map Pack 2?

There was a glitch with the permalink structures for both Javamancy (the Weblog) and Javamancy mini (that’s this lil’ ol’ place right here).

After inspecting the database and the .htaccess files, I went ahead and forced the REST-style permalink structure through the WordPress software by toggling to the default and then back to our preferred format.

    Let’s hope this modification persists…
