Bad Happenings in Bakaara: Bug in Solo Survival Mode
I fired up the Solo Survival mode in Modern Warfare 3, and I started up the Bakaara map to get some practice.
But then… I noticed something very strange…
Once the opposing forces’ waves start to manifest with the heavy body armor and the FAD equipped, I began to get really diced on the top levels of a few of the buildings on the map…
“What’s going on?!?”
The troopers were popping up behind me, although they’re not capable of scaling walls and leaping over the railings. So how are they materializing on the second floors directly behind me and blasting me in the back?
For the next round, I loaded up on Body Armor and heavily mined the bottom level of a building with Claymores, then settled in, watching the previous approaches. I wanted to actually see if the troopers were scaling the balcony outside of the second floor cover and thus sneaking up behind me.
Ah-ha! The troopers weren’t scaling the walls to get the second floor… They were magically rising up through the floor from the first floor and also just magically appearing out of thin air right next to me! Even worse, on the radar, it looked like the troopers were converging on my location from the first floor, but none of the claymores were being triggered!

Space, the Frontier… of Valentine Hearts
Here’s something the ThinkGeek folks found, and shared:
Gee… dunno… not quite sure, but… doesn’t R08-00939 look more like the Apple [AAPL] logo?

Double Fine Adventure: The Kickstarter Project Page

Yes, that's right... a fun game studio like Double Fine Productions has resorted to Kickstarter to raise funds!
Sometimes, it just makes sense…
Like, when you think about all of the fantastic indie games that have come out lately, and how some game publishers have gone hog wild on putting a stranglehold on fun, creative projects to maximize their profits on the same old hum-drum, tired franchises…
So, Double Fine Productions has recently launched a Kickstarter project page to raise some bucks for an upcoming game.
(See the image of the Kickstarter page? Yes, you can click here to see its current status. In fact, there’s a nice entertaining introductory video– that’s IT on the image, with the green Play arrow… that you should watch, to find out about why Tim has decided to tempt fate and try Kickstarter… and why is Ron hiding behind that door, anyway?)

Apple Discussions Forum: Uh-Oh!
I was minding my own business, searching for any information about wake-from-sleep problems with Mac Pros… So, when I saw what looked like a promising link to a discussion about the problem on Apple’s own discussion board, I clicked on it. And this is what I got:

First Snow of the Season
It’s snowing! It’s snowing! It’s snowing!
Okay, it’s not an impressive, huge-flake kind of snowstorm… more like a moderate-size flurry-storm. But nevertheless, it counts.
(Not even sure the photos will properly show the precipitation as it’s coming down…)

WordPress 3.3 Now Available
Yesterday, with a bit o’ fanfare, WordPress 3.3 was released. This is the “Sonny” release, named after Sonny Stitt.
For a bit more detail on the changes in version 3.3, see its Codex page.

Not sure exactly why, but this also reminds me of Louis C.K.’s recent DRM-free online offering of one of his live performances. It’s nice to see that there are newer, better methods of content distribution that shorten the proverbial distance between the real producers and their audiences.
