I am frequently asked by clients about the best hospitals for various procedures and certain aspects of patient care.

The Hospital Compare site, from the HHS-Medicare folks, is something that you may enjoy using to check out the hospitals in your area, or any particular region or location.

There are various things that patients and their families and other loved ones are concerned about, and getting a good idea of the quality of care (QoC) that a patient may typically receive at a particular hospital may alleviate a lot of anxiety. Knowing about infection rates, customer service, payment schedules, patient outcomes, etc. goes a long way for helping people determine appropriate places to send themselves or their loved ones.

While the site isn’t perfect (since it relies upon reported data), the content presented by it should be considered in the context by which it’s made available, and your own judgment should also play a factor in the decision making process.
