This is one of those animal-interest stories that just tickle your fancy as one of those feel-good do-good things that humans have been alleged to do, despite what animal bullies would have you believe.
This was reported in the Daily Intel section of NYMag.com (New York Magazine) earlier today about how a man saved a baby hawk from unfamiliar surroundings, like bullying pigeons (sort of) and deadly traffic (sort of). What began as his errand to fetch milk for his morning coffee turned out to be an animal rescue mission of the urban wildlife variety.
And, who knows? Maybe this man did save the hawk from becoming yet another avian terrorist threatening human lives in the Big Apple. Maybe years from now, the hawk will be telling its younglings, in between worm feedings, about how it was saved by one of those funny ground-plodding wingless bipeds.
