Happy May Day!

For many people, May Day merely marks the beginning of the month, but in several countries, it also signifies at least one form of worker-related break or recognition. However, May Day was originally one of several pagan holidays associated with a change of seasons and certain religious significance. Even with Christianity supplanting many of the pagan sects in the modern world, May Day was not completely eliminated, although it has adopted a sort of secularized affectation, as well as a prelude to the more commercial Mother’s Day encountered later in the month.

So, regardless of your affiliation(s), have a pleasant May Day! (And watch out for the rain!)
