Quite a sensational post title, right?

When I was watching the first day of the confirmation proceeding for Tim Geithner, in which Tim was apologizing for his fiscal wrongdoings and lack of attention to his tax debts, he had essentially responded to the question as to how his taxes were being prepared: “TurboTax”.

Wow.

Intuit’s TurboTax remains one of the most popular tax preparation software packages available, and Intuit certainly was not going to take any implications sitting down. The Wall Street Journal reports online about the indirect exchange concerning the TurboTax debacle.

Intuit itself issued a press release simply stating its widespread use and how it works from user input and addresses common taxpayer scenarios.
