Maybe this ought to be called “the FUD Edition”…

As we count down the minutes to the start of 2009, there have been so many things that have occurred over the past year that cast doubt on the future well-being of many people:

  • The world economy, and certainly the US economy;
  • The energy conundrum that saw both massive fuel pricing speculation and price gouging at the gas pumps;
  • The real estate market collapse in the US due to rampant greed and more greed;
  • Revelations on Madoff’s bilking of customers in his scam;
  • The financial market collapse in the US and the subsequent bailout noise;
  • The car industry collapse in the US due to [insert-your-reason-here];
  • The current conflict between Israel and terrorists;
  • Further disastrous job loss woes in the US;
  • Impending tax hikes in various US jurisdictions;

And you can certainly add more items to the list.

So: the wrap-up message for 2008 has just got to be…

Good luck next year, and thanks for all the fish! ;-)
