Okay, iTunes folks! Rev up your Mac or PC, fire up the Software Updater, and fetch the iTunes 7.7 Update!

The iTunes 7.7 Update was available overnight, and this is the update that a LOT of people have been waiting for.

After all, this is the first version of iTunes to offer the App Store, providing public access to the iPhone and iPod touch applications that Apple has been stockpiling, in preparation for the iPhone 3G rollout campaign.

Personal Experiences

After I updated iTunes to 7.7 on the Mac Pro, I fired up the new version, agreed to the new EULA, and then went to the iTunes homepage. Unfortunately, there was no menu item for me called “App Store”… it may have something to do with the fact that the Mac Pro’s iTunes is currently not keyed to any iPod or iPhone.

So I conducted a search for “App Store”, and voilà

You could also click into either of the found Apps (both happen to be free, by the way), and then from there, use the navigation bar to click into the new App Store.

Alternatively, you certainly could meander a bit in the other search results, having a ball (like I did) in seeing what is being offered for free, and even what costs a few bucks, at the App Store.

N.B.

Yes, if you haven’t figured out by following this blog (like this article), or talking with me, or seeing me via iChat video, or even via video E-mails, I use an Early 2008 Version Mac Pro. :)

One of these days, I’ll get around to enumerating all of the machines I use on a routine basis (I’ve mentioned this tidbit before), but for now, see if you can guess how many Macs I use;)
